Even we were surprised by the extent of the media attention that “This is who we are” attracted on both sides of the Atlantic. Using a media-value formula provided by Alex Orr of Indigo PR in Edinburgh, our media hits have been assessed at well over 200,000 pounds.
In Canada we appeared on CTV Halifax “Live at Five” and on CTV Calgary’s “Noon News” as well as the Range radio station in Airdrie, Alberta and Mountain FM in Banff, Alberta. We were interviewed by National Public Radio and BBC Across America. Articles appeared in newspapers across the country including the 24 Hour newspaper in Vancouver which has approximately one million readers a day.
In Scotland the Times, Herald, Sunday Herald, Sunday Post, Border Telegraph, the List Edinburgh, and the Edinburgh Evening News have all covered to the project, often with major feature articles. The Scottish Parliament exhibition was “Pick of the Week” in the Sunday Times Ecosse review section. We were interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland’s Radio Cafe and The Highland Cafe on BBC Radio Highland.
Here are a few examples of the type of positive media coverage “This is who we are” attracted:
